Time Lounge: It seems like anything can happen at Time Lounge. This slick and sprawling interior is the bar du jour for international jet-setters passing through the crossroads of the world (aka Midtown Manhattan). Designed by Glen Coban to play off the restaurant downstairs, Time Lounge is also the second floor of the extravagant and stylish, you guessed it, Time Hotel. Coban cleverly treated the space like an upscale airport lounge, though the seating is far more comfy and there are no tourists with fanny packs the size of Buicks. The wines are reasonable and the single malts are just the way we like them: abundant. At least now you can go out in this neighborhood without getting sucked into a neon frenzy. And if you spring for the hefty room fee, you won’t even have to stagger home when you’re through. |
