Santos' Party House: Rock out sans frills at this throwback dance club (think Pyramid) deep in the Chinatown/TriBeCa border. Multi-talented artist Andrew W.K. and partners Ron Castellano, Larry Golden, and Spencer Sweeney opened this bi-level bar/club/performance venue in a spot that would seem obscure unless you spent time in the heavily-populated NYU dorm next door. Given the club’s steady roster of avant-electro djs (including former Studio 54 DJ Nicky Siano on Sundays) and uptight door policy (why have a list when there are six people in the bar?) expect scenesters and thirsty co-eds alike. Come after midnight to see the place in action, when Santos' elves are drunk enough to dance. |
