Music Hall of Williamsburg: It’s Bowery Ballroom redux—same floor plan, same bar design, same bookers—but once you get over the déjà vu, you have to credit Bowery Presents for perfecting their indie formula. Formerly the scruffy gymnasium-like Northsix, this three-level space—with three bars to match—has been given a major-label makeover, sporting balcony seating and curved walls for optimum acoustics. Standard venue prices are in effect, with $6 beers and slightly higher-priced mixed drinks. Expect to see packed houses turn out for high-caliber indie acts and veteran rockers alike—this venue just might be better than its older twin. |
