Hurley's Saloon: Liquor has flowed at Hurley’s since 1892, surviving both prohibition and a recent relocation from Rockefeller Center to Times Square. Like the good Irish pub that it is, this three-story landmark watering hole with polished wooden bars draws the local after-work suits looking to relax with the numerous beers on tap or shout at the game on the nearest TV. The second level offers a (corner) library atmosphere with cozy nook tables where, pre-Broadway show, you can prep yourself for two hours of musical numbers. The friendly staff serves better than average pub grub, with an emphasis on seafood, though a hearty steak and succulent ribs also feature; this is, after all, a saloon. When the weather’s inviting, the rooftop terrace is a terrific way to wind down after the office. Live music plays on Saturday nights from 9pm-2am. |
