Bice: So you’re looking for good Italian food but don’t want to trek down to Little Italy for the real thing. Luckily, Bice is conveniently located in Midtown for those too lazy to travel for authenticity. It’s definitely better than the Olive Garden (what isn’t?), which it should be—its first location opened in Milan back in the 1920s, with dozens popping up all over the globe ever since. Add to that a beautiful dining room and a classy atmosphere, and throw in a $35 prix fixe menu, and you’ve got it made. Or ask the knowledgeable staff what they recommend, which might be anything from the osso bucco with porcini mushrooms and parmesan risotto to the orecchiette with broccoli rabe. Finish off with one of more than 20 wines available by the glass, and you’ll have a Bice vice. |
