Artichoke: You can take your time choosing what to eat at this tiny pizza parlor because you’ll be in line on the street for a while. The wafting aroma of fresh bread will be sure to amp your appetite, but after the long wait, this hyped slice of heaven still packs a huge punch. Its signature spinach and artichoke white pie is a creamy twist on the New Yawk slice, but no matter the topping, the thick, flaky crust is what keeps this place a cut above the rest. And to boot, the size of one slice might be enough to feed all of Union Square. Pizza’s not all these paesanos have to offer their adoring public—you can order a host of other delicious Italian staples including cannolis at a reasonable price. They say they’ll have 32-oz. Bud beer on tap “in a week or two.” Presumably you’ll have to get that beer to go, because this place is takeout only, folks—capeesh? |
