1849: For all you vampire prospectors, 1849 is country western-meets-Dracula’s castle, where cactus plants and OK Corral trappings punctuate gothic ceilings and red velvet seating. Two dollar beer specials (and there are a lot to choose from) complemented by an upstairs pool table, plasma-screen televisions, and an MP3 jukebox keep the cowboy crowd coming back for more. So round ’em up partner; this is a good neighborhood haunt, but not a place for that oh-so-special first date. And don’t be fooled by the velvet ropes on the weekends; the well-heeled fashionistas should keep those stilettos moving. |
